Search Charlotte is part of Search Ministries, which was founded in 1979 as a national ministry with a marketplace focus that specializes in creating urban and suburban environments for spiritually hungry people to explore reasons for faith.

Davis Kuykendall

Davis Kuykendall Introduced Search to Charlotte in 1992 and serves as our area director. Davis holds degrees in Engineering from Vanderbilt University, an MBA from the University of Arkansas and the ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary. Before he landed in vocational ministry, Davis was a Marketing Representative with IBM’s National Accounts Division. Davis also serves on the boards of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, YMCA's Camp Harrison, and the Charlotte Leadership Forum. Davis and Valerie have three grown children.

Ken Schultz

Ken Schultz joined the Search Charlotte staff in 1999. Ken worked with Young Life for 17 years in Tennessee and the Carolinas before settling in Charlotte, where he served as associate pastor for Mecklenburg Community Church for several years prior to coming to Search. He received his BA degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. At Fuller Theological Seminary he earned his Masters of Divinity. Ken Ken is married to Kim and has three sons and one daughter and two grandkids.

Chip Cash

Chip Cash came on the Search Charlotte staff in 2005 as an intern and full-time in 2006. A native of Charlotte, he worked in the real estate industry prior to coming on board with Search. Before returning to Charlotte in 2003, he was the Worship Pastor at Hope Church in Richmond, Virginia. He also served as Operations Manager at Young Life’s camp, Windy Gap, in the North Carolina Mountains from 1997-1999. He attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts from 1993-96. He and his wife Emma have three children.
